Itu Khune sends heartwarming message to Thabo Mooki on his 48th birthday

Kaizer Chiefs captain Itumeleng Khune sent a birthday message to his former teammate and club legend Thabo Mooki.

 

 

 

“Tsiki Tsiki” as he is fondly known as turned 48 on Saturday, 22 October, and congratulatory messages and well wishes have flooded in on social media on his behalf.

The two Kaizer Chiefs legends had the privilege of sharing the changing room at club for a period of three years given the fact that Itumeleng Khune was promoted to the senior team in 2006 and Thabo Mooki decided to hang up his soccer boots in 2009.

What’s the story?

On Saturday, the 35 year old Ventersdorp born goalkeeper took to his Instagram stories where he shared a photo where he was captured alongside Thabo Mooki post his retirement from football. As part of his caption, the Kaizer Chiefs jersey number 32 then sent a heartwarming message to the club legend as he wrote, “More life grootmaan”.

In addition, the 2012/13 PSL Footballer of the Season award winner then decided to attach Samthing Soweto’s hit song 𝘏𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘺 𝘣𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩𝘥𝘢𝘺 from his 2019 studio album which is titled 𝘐𝘴𝘪𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪 as a special dedication to the birthday boy.

Itumeleng Khune and Thabo Mooki are two of the few high profile players in the PSL who spent their entire careers at a single club. The pair made a name for themselves in the youth ranks at Kaizer Chiefs before earning cult status in the senior team.
