It’s OVER for The Real Housewives of Johannesburg – Here’s why

After widespread speculation and rumors on social media, MultiChoice has officially announced the conclusion of ‘The Real Housewives of Johannesburg‘ after its third season.Fans had expressed mixed feelings about the show’s direction, noting the frequent changes in cast members, including Lebo “Jojo” Mokoena (previously Gunguluza), Lethabo “LeJoy” Mathato, and newcomers Keabetswe Marema, Thobekile Mdlalose, Nicole Watson, and Mamus Koka.

On Friday, 24 May, Mbalenhle Ntuli, head of unscripted content at MultiChoice, confirmed to the SunTeam the show’s cancellation.Launched in 2018 on M-Net and 1Magic, The Real Housewives of Johannesburg showcased the opulent lifestyles of six Joburg housewives, delving into their personal and professional challenges.

 

 

 

“After three successful seasons, MultiChoice is saying goodbye to The Real Housewives of Johannesburg as the show is not coming back for a fourth season. The reality show chronicled the personal and professional lives of several Johannesburg-based ladies and introduced viewers to the likes of Lethabo “Lejoy” Mathato, Christall Kay and Lebo Jojo Gunguluza, to name a few,” Ntuli said.She said while they’ve have chosen not to proceed with a fourth season, they’re proud of the show’s achievements and thankful to the remarkable women who shared their lives with their audience.Fans of the franchise can look forward to ‘The Real Housewives – Ultimate Girls Trip,’ a spin-off featuring some of their favourite personalities from the Joburg edition, premiering on Showmax from 27 May.
