Rapper AKA and his bae Nelli Tembe only got engaged last month but it seems they are more than ready to be Mr and Mrs.
According to SundayWorld AKA’s family has already initiated lobola negotiations.
The two who met in Thailand on vacation have their respective families finalising lobola talks dates. It is alleged that both their fathers are in support because they run in the same business circles. Nelli gets on well with Kairo and AKA is head over heels in love with her.
“They have a lot in common and love each naturally, he doesn’t have to try around her.
“When he’s with her, he becomes the best version of himself because she is easy to get along with. They get along, they’re friends”.
AKA has already sent a letter of intent to the Tembes and is expected to be done with lobola by the end of the month.
When AKA was asked about the latest developments, here had this to say: “Unfortunately I cannot talk about that because it is not culturally appropriate as each family has their own ways of doing things traditionally.”We have seen a number of surprise weddings, marriages and pregnancies coming from celebs who are super private with their lives. However with AKA and Nelli’s relationship, they have given us a fair insight at what their love looks like and we are just not surprised that it has come to this.

AKA’s mom who had previously said she supported Nelli and AKA didn’t comment on the engagement but spent the day posting cryptic quotes which we hope were not directed at the lovebirds.
Since he announced his engagement, AKA stans have been hard at work throwing shade at his previous lovers, DJ Zinhle and Bonang. Zinhle and AKA share a daughter Kairo Forbes and they broke things off in 2020. It has not been all rosy for the couple though. We say this because of last year’s incident which saw them almost throwing hands at each other. Things almost escalated at the police station. The argument was caused by suspicions of infidelity between the couple and it took place at AKA’s Bryanston home.
The policemen on the scene according to City Press say they found the two going at it with Nelli eventually claiming she was tired of him and was moving out“When the police got to the house, they were still fighting and her bags were packed. She told the police that she was tired of his behaviour and was leaving [him]. She told them that she was going to book herself into a hotel and stay there before going [back] home,”
At Randburg Police Station Nelli claimed he man handled her and he says she slapped him. They almost laid criminal charges against each other however that did not happen. A few days later they were back in each other’s arms!
