Nomusa (Mandisa Vilakazi) has been upset over the fact that she hasn’t been able to land a job recently after her fake qualifications were exposed. So she did what any self-respecting desperate young person would do: Turn to witchcraft.
She was convinced to perform a ritual in order to get all of the good luck from her ancestors. This ritual, much to Nomusa’s delight has been effective and has her floating on cloud nine.
Her outlook on life has changed and she somehow lucks her way into becoming one of the official owners of Emsamo bistro along with her boyfriend Thu Sheleni. Quite a change in fortunes for the one-time waitress who’s been praying for the better things in life.
WITCHCRAFT SUCCESS
But with great success comes great jealousy and Nomusa fears that someone is trying to steal her man from her. It’s a feeling that she gets. Like someone is trying to lure him away.
But there’s something else that she needs to deal with immediately – the relaunch of Emsamo is a flop and not what Nomusa or Thu Sheleni wanted.
Someone, I won’t say who, spills the beans and tells everyone that Nomusa and Thu Sheleni used witchcraft to achieve their overnight success of buying the bistro.
This gets people at the party talking, and even though it is true that muti was used to get Emsamo, Nomusa wants the people to think and believe that they acquired Emsamo with their own hard work and perseverance.
But with the pressure of proving herself and her determination to show people that she’s worked hard for what she’s recently achieved, Nomusa may just be ruining her relationship with Thu Sheleni.
Nomusa wants to do her best to prove herself, but he isn’t interested. He would rather go into work to socialise and drink with his friends than take care of the business, and when Nomusa reprimands Thu for his careless ways, he isn’t too happy and thinks that she’s trying to boss him around and it leads to tension.
