‘I’m someone’s mom’: DJ Zinhle on backlash after Usher viral video

DJ Zinhle and Lynn Forbes, mom of slain rapper AKA, were on a hike when they brought American singer Usher into the conversation. The DJ attended Ushers Life is a Melody campaign and a video of her interacting with the My Boo hitmaker went viral in August.

She expressed that the backlash she received after the video was “ridiculous”.

“I won’t lie, that Usher thing is ridiculous. I told (Moozlie), people are going to have me about this Usher thing. And nothing ever happened, we went to see Usher like weeks ago,”

“I called my husband when I got to Nelspruit and he was like ‘yoh they are having you there. They are saying you’s a hoe. I said ‘for what?’ he says you and Usher,” she said.

“You mustn’t fix other men’s collars man, just mine,” said Lynn.

Lynn went on to address people’s opinions while DJ Zinhle said it is fine for people to have an opinion, but to curse her out is not.

“But to actually curse me out. To swear at me, call me names, call me a hoe, call me and say ‘yeah Usher definitely smashed’… that is so wrong. guys, I’m someone’s mom,” she said.

Speaking off those “attacking” her on social media, Zinhle revealed that someone commented “Kiernan only died seven months ago and you’re already out with other men”. Lynn laughed off the comment asking “what does that have to do with you?”.
