Iconic South African singer Ringo Madlingozi attended the memorial service of award-winning musician Zahara – real name Bulelwa Mkutukana and paid tribute to her by singing one of her classics as seen in an X (the social media formally known as Twitter)post shared on Thursday, 14 December.

Zahara died on Monday, 11 December “surrounded by family and loved ones.” She passed away after suffering a short illness allegedly linked to liver problems. In a statement shared by her family announcing her death earlier this week, she was described as “a beacon of hope, a gift, and a blessing to us and countless people around the world.”
Zahara’s memorial service was held on Thursday, 14 December at the Rhema Bible Church in Randburg, Johannesburg. Countless musicians including Ntando Bangani, Unathi Nkayi, DJ Sbu, and more were spotted at the venue. Ringo Madlingozi also dedicated one of Zahara’s classics to her on stage. The Nakum Nakum hitmaker sang Zahara’s breakthrough song titled Loliwe and tugged on everyone’s feelings as seen on social media.

The 36-year-old singer will be finally laid to rest on 23 December in East London, Eastern Cape. Zahara’s sister, Bulelwa Mtukutwana is said to have recently taken a trip down memory lane to the late star’s final moments, SABC reported. “I remember just after we left for the 15h00 visit [at the hospital], at 17h00 the doctor called and said we must come back.
