‘I was saved by the church’ – Former Chiefs star

The former Kaizer Chiefs attacker – Junior Khanye – knows all about the reckless lifestyle of a professional footballer in this country.

After famously replacing the ill-disciplined Jabu Pule in the Chiefs team, the 17-year-old Khanye soon followed the same path of alcohol destruction and disorder.

Speaking on the SittingWithStan show in recent days, Khanye revealed how the drink led him to 15 car accidents during his peak fame at Amakhosi.

“I was saved by the church, I won’t lie” Khanye said.

“I went into church after 15 car accidents. Nine with the same car.

“I’m not ashamed to say that. The last one turned over. I had an injury for one year and three months. I think it was 2012. I was driven with a friend heavily drunk and blacked-out,” the Daveyton-born star added.
