I wanted to marry him and he never told me he was getting married – Paul Mashatile ex reveals

Vice President Paul Mashatile ex girlfriend, Gugu Nkosi, has dropped yet another bombshell saying they were still dating when Mashatile paid lobola for another woman.

She claims she’d been in an eight-year relationship with Paul, and they were madly in love. He said he’d marry her after the ANC’s 55th National Conference in December last year – but he married another woman instead.

She was looking forward to becoming “Madam M,” Gugu says, until she was betrayed by the man she thought was her soulmate.

“I only found out he was getting married to another woman the day before their wedding,” she says. “I found out from a woman who claimed to be one of ex-girlfriends. I don’t know who she is, but she got my number and asked me if I knew Paul was getting married.”

Gugu arranged to meet the woman and recorded their conversation before sending it to Paul and Keith Khoza, the deputy president’s communications advisor.

In the voice recording, the women can be heard ranting about the upcoming nuptials, with Gugu saying she wanted to “kill” Paul.

“He (Paul) kept on telling this woman I was very dangerous and it started annoying me because he was making me out to be a gangster. So I wanted to scare them since they claim I’m so dangerous,” Gugu says.

Keith, on behalf of Paul, confirms he laid a complaint of intimidation against Gugu at the Sandton police station. He refused to answer further questions, saying it’s for the criminal investigation to resolve.

“I don’t know about any case opened against me,” Gugu says. “I’ve just read about it in the newspapers.”

Their relationship started in 2014 when Paul contacted her to discuss business, says Gugu, who’s divorced and owns a construction company. They met at a restaurant in White River, Mpumalanga.

“We were talking about business and getting know each other. When the wine started to sink into him, he told me he wasn’t there for business – he was there for me.”

She describes the meeting as “love at first sight” and they were in daily contact afterwards. A few weeks later they spent time together in Cape Town.

“It was a perfect relationship,” she says. He “sponsored” her travels overseas, she adds, showing us SMS notifications of payments from R200 000 to R500 000 she says are from Paul.
