The man claims that he designed the SABC1 logo in 2006, and 15 years later, they still haven’t paid him a cent for his hard earned money.

 

 

 

The SABC has been using the logo for a very long while, and until now, we didn’t know it was the work of a man who’s been ripped off.

“I didn’t get paid for the SABC 1 logo I designed and for that fact I will never rest. Black people in leadership positions will milk you dry. No one at SABC is willing to pay me to this day. That logo was designed in 2006 but they’re still f*cking making money with it and I didn’t see a cent. I want everybody to know that if I die and my family is starving, blame SABC 1. I want my f*cking money! This thing depresses me to this day!” said Malepe on a Facebook post.

According to the claims, the SABC have been using his work for 15 years without paying him.

“They continue to make money using my work but not paying me! I’m the creator of that LOGO. It’s my work!!!! Even the tag line, they stole it from “Specs” a local rapper who made a song called “Msawawa Hip Hop Fos Sho” back in the day,” the claim continued.

The SABC has been tagged both on Facebook and Twitter, but they have not said anything. They likely won’t say anything to the claims. Whether there is any amount of truth to these allegations, justice will not prevail unless Malepe takes legal action, provided he has proof to support his allegations.

No one is getting paid here. Even when I’m dead, I will always be angry at the people at SABC 1 using my work without pay! Pay me for my f*cking work! The same way you pay white companies! As long as I’m alive, I’m going to keep reminding people that I’m the designer of the SABC 1 logo and I never got paid for it,” he concluded.
