It looks like Mampintsha’s funeral will be marred by war of words between those from his mother’s side in KwaMashu and the family of Babes Wodumo as it was recorded in a video outside a mortuary. But his father side of family are OK with the Simelane family. Though the KwaZulu-Natal government will pay half the costs of Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo’s funeral, said the premier’s office on Wednesday.

Um, why is the government paying for a citizen’s funeral? A citizen who was not an official, not killed by any accident, catastrophe, natural event, or anything that would warrant the spending of taxpayer’s money?
