Born as Kgaogelo Moagi in January 1996, Master KG as he is professionally known is a South African musician and record producer.

Born and raised in Tzaneen, Limpopo, he started playing with beats at the age of thirteen using a computer that his late uncle had bought him.

Even at that young age, Master KG believed in his craft, though he never imagined becoming a global success. He believed that if people could just hear his music, they would fall in love with it.

His career

Master KG’s music career started when he got in touch with DJ Maebela and they began experimenting with music software, specifically FL Studio. In 2016, after much practice, he released his first single, Situation.

After getting signed to his current record label, Open Mic Productions, in 2018 he released his debut album Skeleton Move.

The album , like most of his music has a strong bias towards a mixture of Afro house instrumentals and bolobedu melodies.

In December 2019, Master KG released the song Jerusalema, featuring Nomcebo Zikode. In mid-2020, the song went viral online, charting internationally and spawning a remix with Nigerian artist, Burna Boy.The song quickly became a symbol of hope amidst all the fear brought by the COVID-19 pandemic; catapulting Master KG in to a global star.

Though there are widely varying estimates on his net worth online, numerous sources however put Master KG’s net worth as high as $5 million (R70 million).
