House of Zwide’s’ Vusi Kunene debuts in ‘Shaka Ilembe

Award-winning actor Vusi Kunene, who is popularly known for his roles as Jack Mabaso in Generations and House of Zwide will debut in Mzansi Magic’s Shaka Ilembe on Sunday.


 

DStv has confirmed that House of Zwide actor Vusi Kunene will star alongside Thembinkosi Mthembu, who plays the role of King Dingiswayo Shaka Ilembe.

Mzansi Magic revealed in a teaser on Twitter that Kunene will appear in the drama series this coming Sunday, 6 August.

Fans of Kunene took to social media to praise him and congratulate though it is unclear what character the actor will play yet.

Talented actor Lemogang Tsipa, who plays the older Shaka in the series also announced on social media that he is about to make his highly anticipated debut.

Tsipa, who plays the older Shaka Zulu, while rising star Ntando Zondi plays the younger King Shaka, wrote: “Excited for this coming Sunday uShaka uyakhula” (Shaka is growing).The Shaka Ilembe actor Vusi Kunene left Generations to join e.tv’s fashion drama House of Zwide in 2021 to play the leading role of fashion designer Funani Zwide.

In the show Funani was married to Faith Zwide (Winnie Ntshaba), who are the pioneers behind the fashion and textile empire titled House of Zwide.

Funani filed for divorce when he found out Faith stabbed his late wife Busi with scissors in the neck and unfortunately, which led to her death.

He also found out that she hid his daughter, Ona (Zobuhle Zwide played by Nefisa Mkhabela) from him, who was raised by Isaac Molapo (Jeffrey Sekele) in Tembisa.
