Controversial South African singer Steve Hofmeyr and his son (Devon) will be hunting South Africa’s animals in 2024.
According to a post on the artist’s Facebook page, the pair have planned a ‘father and son hunt’ for next year. Six pairs will join them to shoot two animals next year, says the competition page on ShowPass.

A bottle of Eendracht brandy is also part of the prize.

The ‘Pa en Seun jag’ (father and son hunt) will be for 2024, with a competition that lets other pairs join them. According to ShowPass, dates for the hunt will only be announced after the competition has closed for entries.

What do you get for going into the bush with the Hofmeyrs?
The prize includes a two-night stay, a bottle of brandy, and shooting at an impala and a blouwildebeest.
The hunter ‘keeps the meat’, but has to have it processed at their own cost. Entries for the competition costs R300 per ticket.

The singer is well-known for his comments against the LGBTQI+ community, which landed Hofmeyr in hot water with the South African Human Rights Commission.

In October, his son Devon confronted Bheki Cele about crime in Brits. Devon and the Bittereinders (‘Bitter Enders’) also confronted the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), according to news reported by The South African website.
Hofmeyr is also known for going on a drive to destroy DsTV decoders, after MultChoice distanced themselves from the singer.
