Moja Love has disclosed additional information concerning the termination of its association with Xolani Khumalo, the host of the show “Sizok’thola,” who is currently facing murder charges related to an incident that occurred during filming with a dru

 

The network expressed concerns about Khumalo’s involvement in illegal activities that contaminated crime scenes and hindered the prosecution of drug lords. Additionally, they asked him to reveal the beneficiaries of his foundation, which he had established based on the show’s popularity, thereby creating a conflict of interest.

Nonzwakazi Cekete, the spokesperson for the channel, stated, “It became evident that the channel’s relationship with Mr. Khumalo had irreparably broken down due to his inability to provide satisfactory answers to our inquiries. Furthermore, undisclosed information that has surfaced further exacerbated the situation.”

Khumalo, along with his Xolani Khumalo Foundation, disputed the claim that he had been officially informed of his contract termination and asserted that negotiations were still ongoing with both the channel and the production company. Their statement mentioned, “Xolani Khumalo and the Foundation believed negotiations were ongoing, and unfortunately, we have been unable to establish contact with the company’s representative for further discussion.”

The channel refuted Khumalo’s assertions, asserting that he had been duly informed by the channel’s management but failed to respond. Cekete added, “We cannot ignore reports of injuries and fatalities during the filming of our shows, and we await the outcome of the ongoing legal case.”

The channel clarified that the show has not been canceled but temporarily paused to enhance its procedures and oversight to prevent further tragedies or loss of life. Cekete emphasized, “MOJA LOVE remains committed to producing content like ‘Sizok’thola’ with the aim of eradicating drug dealers from our streets, who are jeopardizing our country’s future. We are in the process of finalizing an agreement with the South African Police Service (SAPS) to work in tandem with law enforcement to apprehend and prosecute drug lords and dealers.”

Khumalo surrendered to the police in September and has appeared in court twice. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 21st.
