Born as Kiernan Jarryd Forbes and raised in Cape Town, AKA hogged the spotlight after releasing his single “Victory Lap” from his debut album, Altar Ego in 2011.

Forbes continued his success by releasing studio albums which include Levels in the year 2014, Touch My Blood in 2018, and the collective album, Be Careful What You Wish For, along with Anatii in 2017.

2018 saw AKA in conjunction with vodka brand Cruz launched a watermelon-flavored drink with his initial on the bottles. That same month, AKA came on as a special guest on WWE Live events held in Johannesburg and Cape Town. 2019, saw him being roasted on the Comedy Central Roast special.

When AKA was criticized for his ‘COVID-19’ Tweets

Rapper AKA has landed himself in the proverbial hot soup recently following his tweets where questioned how the Coronavirus is transmitted. He began by questioning the spread of the virus and whether an asymptomatic individual can unknowingly spread the virus.

AKA’s Instagram and tweets read:

“Where is the PROOF that someone can infect another person with a deadly virus Microbe without showing ANY symptoms of the virus that they are carrying? Does that even make sense? How does that even sound logical?”

And another tweet that read:

“Also … can you get COVID TWICE??? Some say yes some say no. What is the DEFINITIVE answer? If the answer is no … do I still need to be vaccinated?? Confusion,”

His controversial tweets invited a deluge of very mocking and humiliating responses from many people, with some feeling that AKA should just stick to rapping.
AKA and Cassper Nyovest in a boxing match?

AKA revealed why the boxing match between him and his rival Cassper Nyovest has not yet taken place. AKA said that neither of them have signed the actual contract as of now.
