Despite the Western Cape’s reputation as one of South Africa’s top province that tourist like to visit because of its mother nature and most well-run economically, it is also one of the most deadly, Cape Town is quickly becoming known as a murder capital.

A 17-year-old matric student from Lavender Hill High, is in critical condition after being shot in the Cape Flats on December 15, the day after his matric farewell.

 

It was reported that the boy was visiting his aunt and the incident happened when he was on his way from his aunt’s house in Steenberg when allegedly tried to rob him. He then tried to flee, unfortunately he was shot four times in the leg and twice in the stomach and then left for dead.

It is devastating what happened to this young man, and I hope he gets justice. Our government needs to take a look at this problem because it looks like most people are carrying unlicensed guns. If these guns were registered, they would be able to trace the thieves.
