Whenever South Africans refer to Uzalo, they usually talk about the loopholes in the storyline and how it should be animated because nothing makes sense about the soapie!

Now, imagine your telenovela being put in the same sentence as Uzalo, you might as well put the pen down and follow a different career!

Chris Q. Radebe is a South African writer and actor who trends for the wrong reasons. First things first, he’s the head writer of Uzalo so he’s notorious for gaps in storylines; changing them to suit whatever mood he feels.

Good pieces that he’s written have been mini-series such as Umkhokha but there’ve been talks about changing that to a telenovela and we’re shaking!

It is now coming to light that he joined Gomora as head writer and viewers are not too pleased with the revelation. His picture was posted on Twitter with the caption, “The head writer of Gomora. It all makes sense now”

In hindsight, you’d think that the post was going to sing him praises but no. Viewers have taken to speaking on how the telenovela is heading downwards because of some inconsistencies in the storyline and the obsession with crime and killings.

One viewer replied to the tweet and complained, “This guy changed a principal into a gangster” and even more irking is the fact that the very same principal didn’t know that his son failed. This follows the said matric results only being spoken about after months of the national results in the country being released.

It would have been more effective to announce the results around the same period when matric students wrote exams. We don’t watch TV to be made fools of, if you’re going to write a storyline, at least try to keep it close to reality.

Thoughts? How do you feel about Chris’s writing? Does he drive stories to the wall?
