Harriet Manamela is a South African actress. She is best known for playing the role (starring) of Meikie Maputla in Skeem Saam.
She appeared first on 13 October 2011, the premier of the SABC1 youth soap opera. The actress has also appeared in several other series.
Early life
Harriet Manamela was born in the large zone of Soweto township of Diepkloo on 13 October 1971.
The actress has been active in the entertainment industry since 1998. With her two decades and three years in the industry, she has achieved a lot and has left a mark.
The veteran actress had her matriculation at St. Anthony’s Centre in Boksburg East Rand, Gauteng.
Manamela became a member of Squints Artists Community Theatre Group, Alexandra. There she appeared in several performances.
Career
The actress has been in the industry since 1998 and has left a mark. She performed for two years at the Young Writers Festival at The Market Theatre.
In 2006, she was cast in the mini-series When We Were Black. She started her television profession in 1998 with a role in Yizo Yizo II, Soul City, Isidingo, Justice For All.
She has also appeared in Soul Buddyz, Zero Tolerance, and Behind The Badge.
Her film credits include Dr. Lucille, Hijack Stories, Yesterday, and Country of My Skull. Harriet landed the lead role in My Other Mother.
In 2013, she made it as cast on the e.tv soapie Rhythm City portraying as Nomzamo. The character is the alcoholic mother of Suffocate who is a heavy drinker for decades.
