Siv Ngesi announced that he had lost his mother, Zanele Jaqueline Ngesi via a Twitter post shared on 12 August 2022. She died at the age of 67, IOL reported. Zanele was an author and in 2021, she celebrated the launch of her book, titled The Resilient Queen.
In the year that she died, Siv took to his social media to share that he had fulfilled his mother’s dream of having her walk the red carpet. He shared that he took her as his partner to the SAFTASSA award.
Friday marked one year since Siv lost his mother. He wore his heart on his sleeve on his feed as he opened up about the pain of losing her.
“It’s been the longest, hardest and most painful year of my life! I miss her so much. My will to live is tested more often than I ever thought possible! I’ve never loved and hated life all at the same time… (they say men can’t multi-task),” he wrote.
“I will love you and miss you forever my Queen! Grief is access to love and boy do I have lots more love to give you Mommy!” he added.
“Sending you love and light fam. I’m so sorry 💔 can’t imagine the pain 😓,” @lalla_hirayama said.
