The rivalry between Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs is unique to rest of the world. This is a battle that stays on the field and the players are relatively friendly in real life. It is also unique in the fact that fans can sit together at the stadium during the Soweto Derby. This doesn’t make the situation less intense, however it shows the culture of football and society in the country.

 

 

 

 
Happy Jele is now considered as a legend of Orlando Pirates. He earned his stripes, he joined the Bucaneers back in 2006 and would go on to make over 400 appearances. He left the club at the beginning of the season after having spent 16 years. He is undoubtedly a respected figure in the game and there should be some players who look u to him. Jele has an amazing career on and off the field and is very rare in South Africa.

Happy Jele took to social media to send a message to Kaizer Chiefs star, Njabulo Blom. He wished him a happy birthday as he turned 23 on the 11th of December. This is definitely amazing to see from the former rivals who used to be on opposite sides in the Soweto Derby.

Njabulo Blom is a player who has been in the news a lot lately. This is mainly because of the fact that his contract at Kaizer Chiefs is running out. It was reported that there are struggles between him and the club to agree to a new contract. It was speculated that he will leave Naturena, however it seems like Amakhosi is open to keeping him.

It will definitely be interesting to see what will happen to Njabulo Blom in the future. Mamelodi Sundowns has been reported as one of the teams that are interested in his services. He is a talented player and he can add value to any team he joins. Many will agree that he has been the best player for Kaizer Chiefs in the last few years.
