Ama Qamata is a South Africa actress best known for playing the role of Buhle on Mzansi Magic drama series Gomora.

Ama Qamata, in full Amamkele Qamata, (born 02 September 1998, Cala, Eastern Cape), South African actor rose to prominence after getting the role as Naledi in SABC1 sitcom My Perfect Family.
 

 

 

 

 

Ama Qamata completed her college education at the Reddam House School in South Africa. She is studying Theatre and Performance at University of Cape Town (UCT).Originally from the Eastern Cape village of Cala, Sakhisizwe municipality, South Africa Ama Qamata aka Amamkele Qamata plays the lead role of 16-year-old Puleng Khumalo, a teenager who is on a mission to uncover the truth about the cold case of her older sister who was never found after being abducted at birth in the upcoming Netflix webseries “Blood & Water”. Ama Qamata’s first acting role was as Naledi in the SABC1 sitcom My Perfect Family in 2016.
The talented youngster then went on to have a recurring role as Thandi in the soap opera, Rhythm City, in 2018. At 21 years of age, she is certainly no stranger to the small screen, having also played the starring role of Buhle in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Gomora. She is one of two leading roles in this new drama series, Blood and Water, the other leading role of Fikile “Fiks” Bhele is played by newcomer Khosi Ngema. Blood & Water is produced by Gambit Films with Daryne Joshua & Travis Taute as co-directors and writers, and Simon Beesley as the lead editor.

Ama Qamata made her first appearance on television upon playing the recurring role of Naledi in My Perfect Family, an SABC1 sitcom. She appeared first in Season 4, Episode 2 which aired on the 10th of October 2016.

Ama portrays the role of Buhle in Mzansi Magic drama series Gorora. Buhle, a 15-year-old outspoken and snobbish girl. She is the daughter of a wealthy Sandon couple who fell from riches to rags.

She also portrays a lead role as Puleng in Netflix Series Blood and Water.
