Ayanda Makayi

Ayanda Makayi is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Sol, a spoilt brat who is Tsholo’s possessive boyfriend, in the fifth season of the television drama series MTV Shuga.

 

Early life
Ayanda was born and raised in Queenstown, Eastern Cape.

He matriculated from Queen’s College in 2010 before moving to Johannesburg, where he obtained a BA Honours in Live Performance from AFDA.

He first appeared on television in the SABC1 drama series Mfolozi Street in 2014 and soon landed a string of guest and recurring roles on shows such as Roer Jou Voete, High Rollers and Ashes to Ashes.

In 2017 he landed his first starring role in MTV Shuga, followed by his second starring role when he replaced Given Stuurman in the role of Boysie on the second season of the Mzansi Magic supernatural drama series Igazi.ربما تحتوي الصورة على: ‏‏شخص واحد‏، ‏‏وقوف‏‏‏

 

He can be seen in a variety of television commercials, including Vodacom and Toyota. He has also acted in films like Nyaope Boys, Ben9, That Golden Moment, The Journey is the Destination, Bush Pilot, Against the Wild 2: Survive the Serengeti and Skorokoro.

He also featured on the dream series, Makoti as DJ Mo.

Apart from acting, he sings, dance, plays instruments and play soccer.

While working as a casting director, Ayanda is also a member of two bands.

Ayanda is one of the UNHCR ambassadors amongst Nomzamo Mbatha, Anatii, Leanne Mannas and Tressor to mention a few, where they aim to redefine the narrative of our fellow refugee brother and sisters across Africa.

Best friends

He is best friends with Oros Mpofu(Jama from skeem saam) and his twin, Prince.

 

Love life

He is said to be dating Roer Jou Voete who plays the character of Chef Rose on SABC 1 drama Skeem Saam.
