Happy birthday 🎂🎉 to actor and comedian Celeste Ntuli. #isibaya

Celeste is a South African comedian and actress known for her stand up shows and her role as one of the wives to polygamist, Mpiyakhe on #Isibaya. She has won a SAFTA (South African Film and Television Award) Golden Horn award for her role on Isibaya and has scooped the Flying Solo Award as well as the Comedy G Award at the Savanna Comics’ Choice Awards. Celeste Ntuli plays the role of the Governor on Mzansi Magic’s hit drama series, Lockdown.

After four successful years on Isibaya, Celest Ntuli will officially be exiting the show soon.

In an interview with Glen Lewis and Nina Hastie in the Expensive Breakfast Show on Touch HD Celest confirmed that she would soon be leaving the popular Mzansi Magic drama series.

“Yes shame, it is coming to an end a bit soon, and I’m going back to comedy, I’ll be doing comedy full time now.”

Celeste went on to explain that her being on the show has made her realise how passionate and how personally people take Isibaya from the cast members to the viewers.

“People are passionate about the show, I had to defend myself, to my own family as to why I’m leaving, my mom even said that she’s not going to even watch me, whatever I do now after Isibaya she doesn’t care. “

Celeste briefly added that she felt that the character was becoming huge and it was not exactly falling into her career plans.

“When you want to do something else, you need to take a bit of a break. The thing is with acting, the character comes with you when people meet me at my shows sometimes people expect me to be Siphokazi.”
