Festivities then proceeded to the Orlando Communal Hall and a tribute concert in Mbulu’s honour took place, with performances by friends from the music industry, together with rising young talents.

Audiences were taken down memory lane as Mbulu’s most popular songs were preformed to an appreciative crowd.

South African music icons such as Jonas Gwangwa and Sipho “Hotstix’ Mabuse also came to honour Mbulu and give a word of appreciation on how she has contributed to the South African music industry.

“The event emphasised the City’s commitment to preserving South Africa’s rich heritage and to honour South African artists while there are still alive,” said MMC Sifumba.
