Moliehi Makobane (Drama 2007) famously known as Didie Makobane has been in the entertainment industry for quite some time and is legendary in the television industry as she has been gracing our screens for a very long time. She graduated from Wits University with a BA Honours degree in Dramatic Arts.
This actress, theatre performer, presenter, social media influencer, voice over artist, radio host, speaker, MC and theatre director has always had a passion for performance from a very young age. She directed her first play called Us – A Room Full of Women in 2012. Moliehi Makobane had a brief stint in 2017 on Radio Veritas where she co-hosted a mid-morning show.
Recently the actress was seen on our screens on the show known as Lithapo which airs on SABC2 and the Mzansi Magic drama series Ya Lla, which has taken Sunday television viewing by storm. She also played in Mzansi Love: Kasi Style, in 2012. In 2013 she had a charismatic role in the second season of the SABC1 drama series Intersexions. The following year she had a starring role in the SABC1 drama series Sticks and Stones. In 2016 she was the presenter at Season 10 of the South African Film and Television Awards. Didie was part of the star-studded cast in Mzansi Magic’s popular drama series, The Imposter (Season 2) in 2018.
She recently performed in Don’t Need A Man, a drama online web series and the Market Theatre’s online productions Ditshomo/Story Time. She was also the celebrity guest on Change Down where she raced a fan on the infamous Celebrity Lap and finally got a win for the celebs!
Didie was also recently involved in a Hasa Style Seo Women’s Campaign and developing herself as a brand, by developing #TheShortQueen (#TSQ). She is also the ambassador for Revlon Realistic SA; I Define Myself and has big future plans to take the international theatre world by storm.
