Celebrity Mystery Box’s Wednesday night episode saw media personalities, Smash Afrika and DJ pH, being tasked with using sundried tomatoes as their main ingredient.
Celebrity Mystery Box’s latest episode, which aired on Mzansi Magic on Wednesday, 2 September 2020, saw radio personality, Smash Afrika, battling hip-hop DJ, Phind’Gcobe Madubela, popularly known as DJ pH. Both contestants shared that they are severely inexperienced in the kitchen, and planned on keeping their dishes as simple as possible.

The mystery box included; spinach, mealie meal, beans and chicken, amongst other ingredients. The contestants were expected to use sundried tomatoes as a key element in their recipe.

The final results showed the judges being impressed by DJ pH’s plating, as it was evident that he used the main ingredient, however, they were underwhelmed by Smash Afrika’s presentation. Ultimately, they named DJ pH as the winner, as they believed he added texture to the plate by thinking outside the box.
