Bhulose, the Uzalo star
Handsome and gifted in equal measure, Bhulose is popular for his portrayal of Gxabhashe in Uzalo. His role as criminal and a self-made person, in the popular South African telenovela has made him a household name.
His success as a powerful performer has seen Mpumelelo Bhulose work with the likes of Unathi, Sindi Dlathu, Joe Mafela, and Connie Chiume among others.
Prior to the second season of the Uzalo shoot in August 2015, Bhulose had a head-on collision while driving in Durban. He survived the accident barring a few cuts and bruises. The driver of the other car was detained for intoxication while driving.
The actor quit Uzalo when his role was fundamental to the plot and he had a considerable fan following in SA. At that point, Uzalo was at par with Generations in terms of ratings.
Apparently, he was let go from the show due to his differences with the production team and other stars. In an interview later, Mpumelelo Bhulose agreed that he left the show in a chaotic way. He maintained that while he gave his all for the show, he decided to move on when the producers never confirmed his role in season two.

Bhulose played Ngcolosi ‘Zimele’ Bhengu in the show Imbewu: The Seed. The grapevine had it that Mpumelelo Bhulose was allegedly fired from Imbewu. The reason for the firing was that he didn’t turn up for his shoots for three weeks without clarifications.
Other rumors indicated that he left the show because of differences he had with his co-star Leleti Khumalo. The media was ablaze with reports that friends of Khumalo’s husband were annoying Bhulose. Mpumelelo Bhulose later filed a lawsuit against the actress’s husband.
