Clement Maosa is a beloved South African actor who currently plays the role of Zamokuhle Kwaito Seakamela on SABC 1βs Skeem Saam. His character on Skeem Saam has labeled him a womanizer because of the love triangle he is caught up in with Elizabeth(lizzy) and Glenda. Is he a real player in life? Letβs find out as we explore the Clement Maosa biography.
Clement Maosa was born and raised in the outskates of Polokwane, in Gauteng South Africa. His childhood was not an easy one as he came from a struggling family. Clementβs father was a farm worker while his mother was a domestic worker. Matilda, his elder sister basically raised him as their parents were away most of the time.
Clement Maosa studied Law at the University of Limpopo and graduated with an LLB. He recalls the hard varsity life he had to endure for four strong years. At times he wouldnβt have money for food and he survived mostly on noodles which cost R2. Itβs all history now as he managed to upgrade his life through hard work and determination.
The story of how Clement Maosa got the role of Kwaito on Skeem Saam is a reflection of real Divine Intervention. Clement responded to an advert for Skeem Saam auditions and he was called to audition in Johannesburg. He lacked the money to travel and he did not have any friends or relatives to help out. He boldly called up the Casting Director and informed him that he would not come for auditions due to financial constraints but the Casting Director insisted that he come. A well-wisher gave him R350 to travel and after auditioning he still lacked transport fare to go back home. God definitely intervened as he was booked into the guest room while the Directors deliberated on the winner of the role. He sent a pile of scripts and he knew he had landed the role. Clement Maosaβs life changed thereafter.
