Handre Pollard’s wife gushes over Springbok training pic

Handre Pollard’s wife is celebrating his return to the Springboks camp amid the Rugby World Cup in France. The star player was officially selected as the replacement for Malcolm Marx, who sustained a long-term knee injury.

While Pollard is back training with the rest of the squad, he will not play in South Africa’s game against Ireland on Saturday, 23 September.HANDRE POLLARD REUNITES WITH SPRINGBOKS
Earlier this week, the Springboks confirmed that Handre Pollard had been called up to join the national team at the Rugby World Cup.

According to SA Rugby, the 29-year-old travelled to France from his English club, Leicester Tigers, on Monday, 18 September. This, after fellow Bok Malcolm Marx sustained an injury in training, which resulted in him being ruled out of the competition.

However, Pollard would not be playing in the SA vs Ireland match on Saturday, confirmed Rassie Erasmus.

He said during a media briefing: “Handre has joined us, but he won’t come in (the selection mix) immediately unless we have injuries.

“He only returned to playing last Friday, and we must first get him up to speed with the training sessions and then we’ll get him back in the mix.”

Handre Pollard made his rugby return last Friday for Leicester Tigers, who beat the Sale Sharks. His return followed an injury that had initially ruled him out of the Rugby World Cup squad.
