The industrious Thuthuka Mthembu was born on 28 October 1998 in Johanessburg, South Africa. She was raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to put food on the table. Nothing much is known about MtheMthembu’sher or siblings; however, she always talks about how her mother inspired he to become the go-getter girl she is today.
Thuthuka Mthembu landed her first acting job on Uzalo in December 2016, portraying the character of Nonka, an 18-year-old girl from KwaMashu.
She debuted on Uzalos as a school-going teen and NjNjeza’sister who visited him in jail. She comes from a poverty-stricken Xaba family whose members spend much of their lives trying to change their situation. Nonka stays in KwaMashu with her aunt MaDongwe, cousin sister Lily and brother Njeza.
She made headlines in January 2022 when the rumours that she was dead made rounds on social media. It was reported that the 23-year-old Thuthuka died to head injuries in a car accident. However, the death rumours were dismissed as fake news by Uzalo showrunners. Thuthuka is alive and healthy!
