Rapper AKA, born as Kiernan Forbes, was shot and killed in February 2023 in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal province, South Africa. He was killed alongside his friend while they were from Restaurant.

 

AKA, born Kiernan Forbes in Cape Town in 1988, was one of the country’s most celebrated hip-hop artists after releasing three solo albums, as well as collaborations with other performers.

Since then the police have been looking for perpetrators with no luck.

Police have reportedly made important breakthroughs in the investigation into the murder of Kiernan Forbes, also known as AKA.

According to a report by News24 on Sunday 4th of June 2023, police are looking into suspects that are part of a ‘powerful and feared family’ in KwaZulu-Natal, with links to the taxi industry and construction mafia.
