Generations’ actress Sophie Ndaba: Where is she now?

Actress Sophie Ndaba, who is best known for her role as Queen Moroka in SABC1’s Generations hasn’t appeared on South African TV for a few years now, where is she?

TVSA reports that the South African actress Sophie Ndaba got her big break in Generations as Queen Moroka without any formal acting training.


 

 

 

 

The publications adds that Ndaba received a Duku Duku Award for Best Soap Actress in 2003 and received received a nomination for the Children’s M-Net Awards for Best Soap Actress the following year.

The actress also does voice overs for cartoon characters has also appeared in SABC3’s soapies Isidingo as Nkadimeng and High Rollers as Harried.

Ndaba, who is also a renowned wedding planner took to her Instagram account 10 days ago to celebrate her 50th birthday.The former Generations actress Sophie Ndaba’s last TV appearance was on e.tv’s fashion drama House of Zwide in August 2021 where she played the role of a Guest Celebrity.

TshisaLIVE reported that Ndaba’s fans were thrilled to see her star alongside former Generations co-stars Winnie Ntshaba, who played Khethiwe and Vusi Kunene, who played Jack Mabaso/

She’s also appeared in TV shows such as Family Secrets seasons one and two as Shaniece Moore, Lockdown season five as Palesa, Yizo Yizo season one as
Louisa Tlali and many more.

The actress made headlines in November 2020 when Sunday World reported that she landed in hospital, and she revealed she’s diabetic.

“You know that I’m diabetic right, so when you are depressed, your sugar level will definitely go up. So when they checked me they discovered that because my sugar level was up, my body was burning a lot of fat. So basically the fat that I take, my body will burn it quickly and that resulted in me losing a lot of weight,” she said.

It is unclear at this stage whether the actress will return to TV or if she’s working on any TV shows.
