Gauteng Premier in Trouble after he said Eastern Cape students are flooding schools in Gauteng

ANC Gauteng chair Panyaza Lesufi has been labeled a disgrace after he said that Eastern Cape leaders have run out of ideas, and are burdening the Gauteng province since most students in Eastern Cape are flooding Gauteng schools. Panyaza Lesufi who gave a heated speech blamed everything and everyone on the challenges that the country is facing, he said Eskom was behaving like the opposition to ANC. He blamed ANC NEC for failing to fulfill its mandate and resolve the challenges facing ANC. “We enter this conference with a cloud hanging over our president’s head…we enter this conference with an NEC that has presided over the loss of six of our metros,”

Lesufi said those provinces that want to re-energize the ANC can count on Gauteng but those who want to divide the ANC as a reference to Eastern Cape province that has been trashing ANC in Gauteng for losing the most industrious province in the country to the opposition. Oscar Mabuyane the Eastern Cape ANC chairperson has been very critical of ANC Gauteng for its failure to resolve several challenges that the party is facing in the province including gross corruption at Tembisa Hospital where R1 billion is said to have been looted through a flouted tender system.

Oscar Mabuyane said that ANC leaders in Gauteng can not pretend to be more important than other provinces since they are losing the province to the opposition while ridding on populism instead of solving bread and butter-issues. However, Panyaza Lesufi was not amused and he blames Eastern Cape’s lack of investments in school infrastructure as the reason why “Eastern Cape students are flooding Gauteng schools” pilling on unnecessary pressure. Panyaza Lesufi called for Eastern Cape leadership to apologize for its uncalled-for utterances that sabotage unity in the party.
