“She was fine,” remarked a friend who did not want to be identified. “She was resting with friends at a get-together when she abruptly collapsed and never awoke,” the friend told news24. Several close pals of the well-known media figure have verified that the much-loved celebrity has unfortunately died away.
Her family has yet to issue a statement in response to her death. In the early 2000s, Kuli began her career as a journalist and editor. She went on to host gossip shows including The Real Goboza, Headlines, and, most recently, Trending SA on television.
She has also worked as a radio host on Kaya FM and as an actress in the Mzansi Magic soapie The Queen. Siren, a fictional book, was also written by her. Her mother, father, two sisters, including actress Hlubi Mboya, and a brother are among those she leaves behind.
Last year, she made news when she declared her political intentions and joined the African Transformation Movement (ATM) before of local municipal elections. She was campaigning for office in Tshwane’s Ward 65 at the time. Her aspirations to run for public office, however, were dashed just a week after she announced her membership in the political party.
“The one and only @kuliroberts has joined the winning team,” Mzwanele Manyi tweeted at first. Kuli, a servant, has agreed to serve the people of South Africa. Servant Kuli is an ATM councilor candidate in Tshwane’s Ward 65. We send her our best wishes.”
Kuli was forced to resign later, according to the political party, due to “secret circumstances.” “It is no longer viable to have Nomakula Roberts as a member and ward councillor candidate of the African Transformation Movement due to unforeseen and confidential circumstances,” the statement stated.
