It has been sometime since a lot has emerged and was circulating on social media about former presenter, Kuli Roberts joining politics and finally, she has broken the silence and gave her side of a story.

 

 

 

 

 
Nomakula Roberts is a South African media personality known for entertaining both viewers and listeners. She has been a presenter at Kaya FM as well as on television shows such as TrendingSA whereby she was working with DR Musa Mthombeni and others to entertain viewers. It was recently alleged that Nomakula Roberts has been fired as a Lifestyle Editor of Sunday World following associating herself with politcs. The allegations are indeed true and Nomakula has confirmed that.

In confirming, Roberts said that she is happy to be no longer working for the mentioned paper as it does not respect her political choice.

“I’m happy. It’s the best thing that’s happened to me. I worked there for 10 years, i left and I’ve been there again for a year and it was hell. Every single week, 7 was crying at the job”, Nomakula Roberts said.

“They saw me wearing the ATM t-shirt and assumed that i was running for a councillor. The constitution says I’m allowed to join any political party. But i was never interested in politics. I never had political ambition. Go to IEC, my signature is not there. I was never running for councillor”,Roberts added.

It is good that finally there are now two sides of the story and not only one involving the mentioned paper whereby Kuli Roberts previously worked as she has also responded and revealed what has happened. However, with her revealing that she used to cry every week at her then job says a lot and it seems a lot was happening before she joined politics and it’s possible that it also contributed to her loosing her job as an editor. It is still sad that she lost her job, there are bills to pay, a lot is happening and one needs money to survive.
