Former Orlando Pirates Legend Is Now A School Principal.

Orlando Pirates legend Bernard Lushozi was known as a notorious hard tackling defender during his prime with the Buccaneers. Lushozi was part of the Pirates squad that conquered Africa in 1995.

Bernard Lushozi began his professional career with Moroka Swallows as a youngster in 1984 playing alongside Ace Mnini and Thomas Hlongwane. In 1989 he sustained a career threatening injury and was given a clearance by the team.

Lushozi would recover from the injury the following season and went to join Orlando Pirates where he made a name for himself. During his time with the Bucanners he played with the late Botsotso Makhanya and Mandla Sithole before retiring in the late 1990s.

In 2005 he joined the Albertina Sisulu Centre where he currently serves as the school principal. The school caters for learners who are facing profound to serve intellectual disabilities. As of recent Lushozi is currently sitting at home after undergoing through an eye operation procedure.

Lushozi is currently partially blind, as he lost his vision completely on his other eye and doctors have tried to restore his vision in his other eye. He is hoping to fully recover with the aim of resuming his duties at the school.
