Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana has opened up on his ‘biggest injury’ after leaving DStv Premiership

Caleb-Bonfils Bimenyimana has since undergone a major surgery, months after exiting the DStv Premiership.

The Libya’s Al Ahli Bengazi player underwent surgery on what appears a right leg knee injury.

It is thought that the injury affected the contribution of Bimenyimana to the cause of the Glamour Boys.

Bimenyimana managed just seven league goals in 17 DStv Premiership games last season.

The former DStv Premiership star suffered the injury while playing for Burundi in the recent AFCON qualifiers.

He has since given an update on the success of his surgery.

“Thanks to GOD! Surgery was successful today,” the 25-year-old wrote on his Facebook account.

“A big relief that we’ve been able to get rid of this issue.”“Also, a big shoutout to my incredible family and friends for their support.

“I’m so grateful to have you all in my life. See you soon in the field.”

He joined Chiefs after a few games into last season. He had undergone trials under then Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane who appeared to be against deciding him.

However, Zwane, after a heavy loss to Mamelodi Sundowns, made a U-turn to recruit Bimenyimana.

Chiefs released the striker at the start of this season.
