Former Generations Star “Phenyo” returned to tv with a big role to play of being a polygamist man

Mzansi will be thrilled to welcome back the most popular actor from KwaMashu, in KZN Melusi Yeni, who made his name very popular on the SABC1 soap Generations playing the role of Phenyo Dlomo.

Melusi Yeni returned to Mzansi’s small screens.

 

 

According to the source the actor says that when he found out he is returning to tv to play the lead role in the new drama called ” Isifiso” which started on Monday at 8pm on Mzansi Magic he did not realize that the scene he was playing was almost like the life of Musa Mseleku. The actor said he then reviewed the Uthando Nesthembu program to prepare himself for his charector.

The strong Melusi plays the role of Sboniso Gambu, who is a well-known businessman in a place called Umzumbe in the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal where the drama is shot. Melusi revealed that because of his job he is now living in Port Shepstone.

“I sat down and looked at Musa’s life as he is a businessman but he did not have a law degree or a doctorate and started his own business and ended up successful.”

He said the role model was a man who grew up in a home, who loved to sell different things to make a living and that when he grew up he became a business tycoon.

Melusi Yeni former Generations acror who played the role of Phenyo.

“When he is older Sboniso goes to town where he meets a woman he grew up with and that is where the game begins. Sboniso is married but loves polygamy, and as a result there are problems, ”said the actor.

Melusi, who once disappeared from television shows, said he was not happy about anything like acting with KwaZulu-Natal youth.

He praised the talent of the actors produced by KZN most of whom he worked with in the show. He describes them as talented actors which he sees to be the highlight of Desire.

He said he is grateful for the way the playwright Chris Q did for his character.

“Although we recorded in Johannesburg due to time constraints, I hope that for the second season if they have agreed to return, we will even go to Umzumbe. Working with Nelisa, who plays the role of Bazothini, has given me a glimpse into her potential, ”said Melusi.

He said that since he did not appear in television dramas, he was acting in theaters and films abroad.

Other characters in the play include Sjava, Zinhle Mabena and Ntando Mncube.
