Announcement: Former Ekurhuleni mayor Duma Nkosi has died at the age of 64.
According to several reports, the ANC has lost one of its own who was currently serving at the National Assembly. Duma Nkosi, a former Ekurhuleni mayor has passed away. His cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Nkosi, who was born in Thokoza, Gauteng, on the 7th of June 1957, has been described as a good leader who ensured that services were delivered for the people of Ekurhuleni. Not only that, he was disciplined, humble, and fought for the rights of Black people. Those who knew him are devastated by the news and have been sending their condolences to his family and paying their tributes.
Another comrade, Johnny Mohlala, describes Nkosi as a true comrade who dedicated his life to the struggle. He adds that Nkosi worked tirelessly to change the name of OR Tambo International Airport, citing that the name of the airport should not be the same as of a town, worked hard to have it changed to OR Tambo Interpretation Airport.
