South African actress Slindile Nodangala is best known for her acting role as Ruby Dikobe on SABC 1’s soap opera Generations. She joined the show in 2011 and was fired by 2014 along with 15 other actors after a salary dispute. So where is she now?


Slindile Nodangala starred in Generations as Mam’ Ruby, a fearless shebeen owner with a magical singing voice. She along with 15 other actors were fired from the popular production after they decided to strike for better salaries and longer contracts.

On the list, she was sacked with Sophie Ndaba who played Queen Moroka in the telenovela, Menzi Ngubane who played the part of Sibusiso Dlamini, Katlego Danke who was Dineo Mashaba in the show, Winnie Ntshaba who played Khethiwe Buthelezi, Seputla Sebogodi who played Kenneth Mashaba, and several other prominent actors, EWN reported.

Nodangala has bagged several TV roles in her career including Rhythm City season one where she starred as Blossom, The Queen season one in which she played as Zodwa, in The River season five, she played as Nolwazi, in Ring of Lies seasons one and two, she played the role of Thando, and most recently, she starred in Zabalaza’s season 13 in which she plays Slindile, TVSA reported.

While many may think Slindile Nodangala started her acting career in Generations, it appears her career in front of the camera actually debuted thirty years ago, Briefly reported. With that, she has reportedly been fortunate to rub shoulders with some of the most famous people in the world including Prince of Jordan, Prince Charles, and Prince Edward.

The 51-year-old actress also has a history in the music industry in which she reportedly sang backup for Stimela, was a backup vocalist for Rebecca Malope, Lucky Dube, as well as Sophie Mgcina.
