Fans warn Tyla about possible collaborations with DJ Maphorisa.

Tyla, a Grammy-winning singer, is facing backlash on social media after a video of her with record producer DJ Maphorisa surfaced.

Although the video is from Maphorisa and Kabza De Small’s 2022 London event, rumor has spread that the two artists are collaborating on music. However, Tyla’s followers are less than enthusiastic about this potential collaboration.

Maphorisa, also known as Themba Sonnyboy Sekowe, is currently caught up in a feud with DJ and podcaster MacG over exploitation claims. The record producer and label boss recently took to Instagram to assert his ownership of any music recorded in his studio. He made it clear that when artists use their computers, studios, and electricity, the music belongs to them.

These revelations have sparked a debate about Maphorisa’s business practices, further fueling rumours of artist exploitation. In light of this controversy and the video featuring Tyla, fans have taken to social media to throw some witty shade at the DJ.“Don’t eat the Nandos, Tyla!! Use your own laptop, electricity, and microphone,” one concerned fan warned. Another user chimed in, jokingly saying, “Then she gets nothing 😂 after him buying McDonald’s and a cold drink in the studio.” And of course, there’s the fan who hopes Tyla has her own studio.

Though it’s all fun and games on social media, Maphorisa’s latest words have clearly hit a nerve with fans and music enthusiasts alike.

Only time will tell if Tyla and Maphorisa are working on new music together. But one thing is certain: fans will keep a careful eye on this possible working together.
