After the Friday night shooting of renowned chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane and rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes, his family is still seeking answers.

The family said Motsoane was shot in the chest.

Celebrity chef Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane and rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes were shot and killed in Durban on Friday night. His relatives plan to travel to Durban on Sunday to learn more about the investigation.

On Monday, the family stated that Motsoane, AKA’s former manager, had been friends with the rapper for years and that his death had left an indelible scar on his parents’ hearts.

The statement said Motsoane was shot in the chest before he and the musician parted ways.

Ntsoaki Mothakathi said the family was still processing what transpired.

“After losing their son, the parents are suffering.” The family is struggling. The family requests compassion and space as it prepares for his funeral.

Forbes and Motsoane were killed outside the Morningside restaurant Wish on Florida in Durban.

The motivation for the shooting has been rumoured, and police detectives are working around the clock to find the gunmen.

Robert Netshiunda, KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson, said the probe hasn’t progressed.

Forbes’ former fiancée Anele Tembe’s family “decided to rather not focus” on the NPA’s statement on its decision not to pursue anyone for her death.

Tembe died after falling from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in Loop Street, Cape Town, in April 2021.
