The coolest kid in Africa King 98, has returned with yet another fire groove single, and the reception of the song has been nothing short of amazing. The Zimbabwean-born and South African based rapper, dropped his much-anticipated brand new single titled Kachiri featuring Tanzania’s finest and BET award-winning artist Diamond Platnumz.

Kachiri is a fun, sexy afrobeat song that will get you on your feet and swinging your hips and it is coupled with a stunning, well-styled music video shot in Tanzania, directed by Dir Kenny. The rapper recently had an interview with ZAlebs to unpack what the single is about and the pleasure of working with Diamond Platnumz.
The manner in which King 98 goes about delivering his artistry has catapulted him to a rare seat at the table, within the realm of music. His music career is soaring and he has collaborated with the creme de la cream of the music industry in Africa.
King 98 says working with Diamond Platnumz was a dream come true. He says their collaboration came after his visit to Tanzania in February.
“I went to Tanzania in February and that is when his manager organized and I went to his house and he took me around and showed me how he works and for me, he is like the biggest artist in Africa. The amount of following that he has in Africa and in his country is big so he doesn’t really work with anyone, he saw something on me”
He says they started cooking up the storm in the studio 2 days after they had initially met. Speaking about the pleasure of working with him he says, “It was a good experience and life-changing, it is my biggest song, I am really happy and I’m excited the future,” he explains.
The rapper is clearly having the best run of his music career yet, as he recently announced that their music video has reached 1 million views on YouTube, proving that work does pay off indeed.
