Ex-Pirates star enters the kitchen after football

Not every footballer will become a coach post-retirement. Lekgwati, now aged 47 since his retirement in 2016, is making strides in the food industry.

The Ga-Rankuwa-born legend has re-invented himself as the owner of Grootman Restautant in Tshwane. One of the pupular dishes at the food bar is Gauteng’s beloved Kota sandwich.

Other food selections include spicy roast/braai chicken, steaks, chicken livers and burgers.DSTV PREMIERSHIP FIXTURE AGAINST CAPE TOWN SPURS
Meanwhile, Lekgwati’s former Pirates side will be in action on Wednesday night against the league’s winless newcomers Spurs.

With just two points in the past two games, coach Jose Riveiro is only focused on helping his men put the ball inside the net.

“We are not finding the goal as easy as we would like and that’s a handicap. But I’m busy with the problems that we have to make sure that we solve them,” the Spaniard said as quoted“If we continue having all problems, then we are doing something wrong. I’m busy trying to help my players to win games and score more goals, but I’m not concerned,” he added.

The game is set for a 19:30 kick-off from the Cape Town Stadium and will be live on SuperSport TV’s Channel 202.
