The battling power supply company has once again announced that stage 6 Loadshedding will continue on Monday. This comes after shortages in generation capacity due to reduced workforce as some workers have been involved in what they refer to as “unlawful strikes”. Eskom workers have demanded an increase of a staggering 12% that they have been promised. Negotiations are underway to find an amicable solution to this matter.
On a statement that they published this afternoon, it indicated that the severity of power cuts lies in their workforce returning to duty to conduct the much needed repairs to equipment. It’s expected to continue over the next few weeks as they struggle to keep up with the demand of electricity due to the cold weather.

How to check your schedule
As per their statement, stage 4 is currently being implemented until midnight. Stage 2 will then start at 05:00 on Monday. It will continue to alternate between the two stages depending on the availability of power and demand. Eskom continues to urge people to use electricity sparingly and switch of all their appliances during loadshedding to prevent surges when the power is restored.
