Durban Gen actress Nelisiwe Sibiya becoming a Sangoma in real life?

Talk of real life imitating art! South African actress Nelisiwe Sibiya who is popular for her role on Durban Gen as Dr Mbali Mthethwa is set to become a traditional healer in real life.

The actress who doubles as a musician has been reported to be answering her call from the underground gang (ancestors).

On the show, Sibiya acts as a doctor who also pursued her calling in being a sangoma.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

She represents the present generation which is merged with western practices and traditional practices too.

The actress opened up in an interview with Daily Dun that she’s really thinking of taking up the task of being a Sangoma in real life.

She revealed that her own biological mother once trained to be one but did not graduate as she left to become a fully dedicated Christian.

“My mother went to train to become a sangoma. She graduated but left it all and became a Christian. Now, I’m paying the price,” Nelisiwe said.
