Isidingo , Isibaya , The Queen , Legacy and Rhythm City to name a few , are no longer on our TV screens and soon Imbewu, Durban Gen , Lingashoni & DiepCity will follow the trend of ended TV soapies. This leaves me with a question , “ What does the future hold for South African soap operas & telenovelas ?? Who should take the blame ? The masterminds behind these soapies or not ?? When talking about the ‘ masterminds ’ I am referring to the writers , the ones behind the plot narrative or what..? Are they finding it so hard to lure viewers ? Or is it us the viewers who no longer find interest in watching the magic in South African stories ?
