Dr Nandipha Magudumana is set to present her bail application at the Bloemfontein magistrates court on Tuesday.

This comes after she had initially decided against applying for bail earlier this year after she was arrested in Tanzania.

 

 

 

 

 

Magudumana found herself at the epicenter of the Thabo Bester prison escape after she was alleged to have played a huge role in that escape.

Bester grabbed global newspaper headlines after he achieved the daring feat of escaping from Mangaung prison.

It is reported that he faked his own death and several people were arrested in connection with this case.

Magudumana is set to present her bail application on Tuesday.

In other news, Shaun Donnachie, 43, said though it was intrigue that pushed him into the waters, the challenge went relatively smoothly.

“If you are hit by too many it can cause issues, which has led numerous swimmers in previous years to abort their swims [due] to the cumulative venom build-up in the body.”

The North Channel is notorious for its unpredictable currents and the sheer distance that stretches the limits of human endurance.

However, Donnachie said it was precisely these challenges that made the endeavour worth pursuing.

Donnachie said he also wanted people to witness his journey either in person or in the media — so that they could see that limitations were often self-imposed and that with the right mindset, barriers could be broken.

“I decided to embark on this challenge to show my son and friends that any Average Joe can achieve big dreams through dedication and consistency.

“I hope to ignite a spark of inspiration in others, urging them to pursue their own aspirations, no matter how audacious they might seem,” he said.

Donnachie said he had a big support system which included Old Kingswood College alumni Justin Smith and Paul Beevers.
