Soweto is an important township when it comes to South African football. Not only do the 2 biggest teams come from this in Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, they have also produced countless talent. Many will agree that influence and representation of Soweto has declined in recent years. This speaks of a national issue in terms of grass-roots and scouting of young talent. It remains a power house nonetheless and the legends are taking up roles in to change the situation.

 

 

 

 

This legend is undoubtedly among the greatest of all time and he is immortalized. He created magic during his playing days in a Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana jersey. He was part of the team that won the Africa Cup Of Nations in 1996. He has since traded his boots for time behind our screens.

Doctor Khumalo has joined Soweto Tv as the community channel looks to turn things around. We have seen a decline of the station over the yesrs due to negligence and lack of content. Many people have been vocal about this including Nhlanhla Lux who has been advocating for fresh leadership.

16V is the host of a weekly football show that will air on Mondays. The show is called Monday Diski Night and it plays live at 8PM. He is definitely the right guy to be part of this as he is well experienced in the broadcast space and has a huge following. This will also provide an opportunity for Soweto Tv to gain some traffic and produce more content for the people.

This show is a breath of fresh air and it is what the public has been asking for. It is produced by a young and talented football journalist who is known as Mpumi Manyisi. It is big more especially for women in sports working in the background. It will be interesting to see how Doctor Khumalo will perform and if he will be able to score big ratings.
