For those of you who liked boy bands in the early 2000s you may remember a band named the backstreet boys. While this band does remain somewhat famous to this day, their image may be in danger as one of their members was accused of doing something awful. Here are all the details as well as my opinion on the situation.

 

 

 

The backstreet boys star Nick Carter has been accused by a woman of abusing her all the way back in February 2001. The Woman who filed a suit against him is named Shannon Ruth and she is autistic as well as has cerebral palsy.

She claims that when she was just seventeen years old, Nick forced her to perform a sexual act on him while on the band’s tour bus. Nick of course denies that the incident ever occurred.

According to fellow band mate AJ Mclean, the band is unified against these allegations and stand with Nick Carter supporting him amidst the legal battle.

The group took to the stage at MSG this past weekend and the crowd went nuts, particularly when Nick performed a solo from the song “Last Christmas”.

While I would like to support woman in their fight for justice, I personally have to question why this Woman waited so long to file the law suit. Over twenty years have passed since the alleged incident occurred in February 2001 and I don’t believe that it will be easy for her to find evidence that will prove that she’s telling the truth.

Unfortunately this seems like it will turn into a case of what she said vs what he said.
